What to see and do in the beautiful city of New Zealand Auckland

Auckland is the largest city in New Zealand with a metropolitan population of one million. It is in the northern half of North Island on a narrow spit of land that the Northland peninsula connects with the rest of North Island. It is actually four different cities Manuku (South), Waitakere (West), North Shore Auckland City and then himself.

There are far too like the Auckland Art Gallery, the largest collection of national and international art in New see,New Zealand. A favorite spot of mine is the Otara Flea Market, every Saturday from 6 clock until noon at the Otara Shopping Center on Newbury Street. It has a large selection of clothing and is a great place to people-watch. The area around Otara is densely covered with Polynesian people and the market and the surrounding area populated truly reflects this wonderful friendly people. It's just a nice place to wander.

If you want to get a different view of Auckland is the Sky Tower, which is going toat the corner of Victoria and Federal Streets. It is 328 meters high and is the tallest freestanding tower in the entire southern hemisphere, and offers a magnificent view up to 80 miles away. It also has good food as the Orbit revolving restaurant.

If you want to get away from Auckland then after a while I would get the Waitakere Ranges, which is just a fabulous area to visit and Auckland's best kept secret recommend. It has spectacular waterfalls and breathtaking views of rocky beachesand is only 45 minutes drive from Auckland and is a must.

Auckland is a great place and worth a visit if you fly to the beautiful country that is New Zealand.
